The younger horses have been out gaining experience on the circuit. Mrs Gillian Davis’ Brechfa Cai made a great start to his career placed 5th in his first event at Moreton Morrell and quickly upgrading to BE100, gaining 2nd at Ascott-u-Wychwood. Christian Landolt’s exciting young horse Billy started the season with a 5th place in his first event at Moreton Morrell.

The coloured stallion Bryn, continues his good form with good
places in his early novice runs and making a smooth transition
to intermediate level. Leonard is now aiming him at the CIC2*
at Barbury with a view to Hartpury in August. This little
stallion is proving a super consistent horse, with an excellent
temperament.
His full sister Brechfa Carys began her competition
career this season and is showing the same kind nature winning
the BE90 at Ascott–u–Wychwood and 2nd at Pontispool.

Mel and Robert Puddick’s Vodka Ice has settled well to his new life with Leonard, gaining many top ten placings, including 4th Withington Novice and 2nd IN at Pontispool. Leonard will aim him at Hartpury CCI1* in August.

Mel
and Robert’s lovely little mare Cornetto upgraded to BE100 this season
and was placed 9th at Somerley Park. She made an outstanding
start to her career last season and is an excellent future prospect.
Also owned by the Puddicks, Leonard has recently taken over the ride on
Strawberry Daiquiri from Polly Williamson. This homebred mare is out of
Acer, Leonard’s previous very successful advanced ride. Strawberry made
a great early impression at the yard winning the BE100 at Great Tew on a
fabulous dressage score of 21!

Leonard’s
classy grey, Time Machine, upgraded to BE100 and began the season in
style winning at Somerley Park and placed well in all his runs so far
this season. Leonard rates this horse highly and he will aim to build
his experience this year with a view to his long-term future. Leonard
would be happy to hear from prospective owners who may be interested in
discussing options for this talented horse.
Arthur began his UK eventing career in style with 2nd and 4th places in both his first runs at Great Tew. He is on a mission to qualify for the CCI1* at Hartpury.
Hattie completed her first BE90 at Pontispool with Otto, having taken over the ride from Leonard and aims to gain more confidence with him over the next couple of months before leaving for university in the Autumn.
Emma is now back out competing and will begin Christian Landolt’s High Hopes at West Wilts.
